The Bottom Line

In this chapter it talked about the risk of the nation and the risk of education many have faced. In order for public schools to become the best they can be, they decided to create more exams and other types of finals to build a stronger foundation of education. Education is really important for many of those and those who want the kids succeed just want a better future for all. Although many have believed that schools were becoming a nation's risk they decided to continue the amount of exams instead of focusing on the children's craft. Like either working at a workshop, factory or as a housewife. Instead giving all the opportunity to the craft they created more exams in math to science because scores and grades are high achievers.  Even though alot of this is just education the political team in this country took a really big step in the future of  education. It is important for the student in each grade. Like I have stated before in my other document it is for students who a...

Separate and Unequal

After reading the book and watching a documentary and a ted talk, I have seen and heard with my own eyes and ears on how different the school system is. It is different with the way we as students are taught and different in where we learn and with whom. In the ted talk the woman talked about she was different from others; attending a school where she had an enormous chance and future at an education but also realized that the kids in her neighborhood went to the public schools and the reason to this is that many parents do not believe in the public school system. They believe that the education received in a public school can be compared to the one where those who pay, pay out of pocket. In reading and watching this you see two union who are supposed to strive tighter are separated. We are still separated by race, color and the economic pay that we receive. When schools were being founded, they were being founded and built off the backs of those who were slaves who cannot receive the ...

As American as Public School

Diana Rivera  February 25, 2021  Assignment Part 3  Reading this part of the book has opened my eyes about how important school was going to stand for. Now a days we have many students who do not want to get up and go to school but little do they really know how the struggle was to keep public schools open and have the education pass down for years to come. For many who were coming to states the old immigrants and the new ones did not see much eye to eye but when it came to the education part for those who did not have much as others, they wanted the same equal chance for their children and grandchildren to come. They wanted this opportunity and turn it into something great for the kids to either become a doctor, lawyer, or anything that was a good field.    As many who came here, they wanted to reach new empowerments and many new social reforms to work in public schools, living conditions and those who have jobs. This was due to everyone wanted to have eq...

My Intorduction Diana Rivera

Hello to everyone in this class, my name is Diana Rivera I am senior at NJCU and my major is Psychology. My interests include doing yoga, traveling, eating new cultural food, and helping out my community as much as I can with the help of my friends and those I am close with. The reason I took this class was because of the course description it really surprised me of how literacy and books can be a powerful move. By this I mean books hold almost all of what we know and sometimes a good book can just make it or break while you're learning because it is what sticks with you most of your life time.  My first part of literature was a poetry book from my older sister. As a child she would read me many poetry stories or short ones from different books or she herself would make some of her own. This was me first being introduced to books in general. Although it is not a history book or anything special, poems or love poetry is what really spoke to me and peeked my interests in books....
